Kathleen Mittan

Kathy Mittan is a self-taught artist who paints in acrylic, oil, pastels, graphite and colored pencil. Her love of animals has inspired her to paint wildlife and cherished pets. Her style is both abstract in the pouring technique and realistic in fine arts. Her style is vivid and realistic, capturing the heart and soul of each one of her subjects.

Kathy Dean

Kathy has been mastering the art of quilling since 2018. As an acrylic painter for most of her life, she found a new passion the multidimensional art of quilling, and has even started combining the acrylic painting and quilling together to create some fun multimedia art.  Stop by and see at A Summer’s Palette, she’ll be working on a piece, or join her group on Facebook.

Art has proven to be the most potent means for me to reconnect with my true self. Whether I’m immersed in painting, drawing, or any other creative pursuit, I lose myself in the process, and the external world fades away. In this state, I forge a connection with reality that defies easy explanation. It’s a profoundly soothing experience that enables me to rediscover myself and my surroundings.

While you will find that most of my work is in brightly colored landscapes, I do like to experiment with different styles and subjects as I make my artist journey.  My subjects are a mix of being loosely based on actual places along with views straight out of my imagination.

Alison Ciarlante

I’m an artist and Peace Rock spreader. Spreading Peace One Rock at a Time! Mandalas are my fav. It all started on April 1st, 2009. I was having a bad day, so I decided to paint a picture to make it brighter. I took a rock and painted a Peace symbol on it.

My art centers around Peace, Love and Dogs. I love to paint on rocks. I love art that inspires and makes you feel good. I also love to make cards.

I started my career at Parish Hill Junior/Senior High School in Chaplin, Connecticut.  As an public school art teacher, I taught students appreciation of masters’ artwork and of contemporary art.  I encouraged all students to work to their best and to enjoy the process of creating art.  After having my first child, I ran a family daycare home.  I began teaching art in Manchester in 2000 and retired in 2017.   Since then, I have been re-discovering my artistic passions, like as pottery, painting, and mixed media.  I still love the art of teaching, most recently through zoom lessons.
